Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist TV personality, and the owner of the liberally independent online news magazine The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England along with her family members at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. She became a conservative syndicated writer following her graduation as well. When The Huffington Post launched a couple of years afterwards, she was able to create an online platform for voice that provided criticisms of political situations. Her fame helped to attract several well-known contributors to share their views about politics, news and other topics. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall contest in California to succeed the governor at the time, Davis. Alongside this, she led a Detroit campaign to increase the use of vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes classified her as the 12th most influential woman on the planet in 2009 and Guardian added her to the Top 100 List of Media during the same year. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of the media group that also includes other AOL properties like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she was close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her entire life. While in her formative time, she showed abilities to lead, and for this her name is still well-known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female and sole foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned master's degrees in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist and critic and an anchor on a TV show. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
