Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 into a very humble family of 12 children later on, realized early that she was able to escape suffering through her creative mind. Before learning how to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. Within 8 years she got her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. The same year she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She made a name for herself locally while still at high school, but dreamed of a bigger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to join his syndicated show at this point. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's show because the success of her solo albums like Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always love You to Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached number one. The first time it made it to No. 1 was 1974.
